- Make sure the temperature setting on the thermostat is set to a setting that is lower than the temperature in the room.
- Check your air filter. A dirty air filter could restrict air flow causing the unit to freeze up or not cool properly.
- Check to see if the unit has iced up. An evaporator coil that is frozen will restrict air flow causing unit not to function properly. Put fan setting on the t-stat to the ON position, this will help de-ice the evaporator coil so when the technician arrives the system can be diagnosed.
- Check all electrical breakers to see if they have been tripped. Reset breakers and see if the unit will restart.
